JALT's Officer Support Committee (OSC) was created to help orient new officers and support current officers in JALT’s SIGs, chapters, and committees. This session will be partially an introduction to the resources available to JALT officers, and partially a Q&A / troubleshooting session. If you're a JALT officer (or curious about becoming one), you are welcome to this meeting.

  • William Pellowe

    William Pellowe is an Associate Professor at Kindai University's campus in Fukuoka Prefecture, where he has been teaching since 2000. He has served as JALT's Director of Public Relations since 2019, and he has been doing the PanSIG website at http://pansig.org since 2017.

  • Grant Osterman

    Dr. Osterman has been teaching in Japan since 1993. Originally from a small Midwestern town in the United States, he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education from the University of Maryland. After a short hiatus, he completed his doctorate degree from Northcentral University in educational leadership. Over his career, he has taught at elementary schools, junior high schools, universities, and is an administrator at a private international school in Okinawa. His volunteer works includes being the coordinator for JALT’s Teaching Younger Learners Special Interest Group, Okinawa Chapter Membership Chair, and the SIG Representative Liaison for JALT.

    Originally from Vancouver(ish) Canada, Chelanna now lives in Tokyo and works in Chiba. She is the Program Chair Liaison.

  • Jon Thomas

    Jon Thomas is a tenured lecturer at Hakodate University in Hokkaido, Japan. His research background includes constructive learning, content and language integrated learning, and action research. In HE as well as the private industry, he has focused his teaching on hospitality, intercultural communication, and various EFL themes. Currently active in JALT as Teacher Development SIG Coordinator, Hokkaido Chapter Officer, Officer Support Committee Member, and will be MC of "A Forum on Communities of Practice".

  • Mehrasa Alizadeh

    Mehrasa Alizadeh is an assistant professor at the International Professional University of Technology in Osaka, Japan where she teaches EFL courses. She holds a PhD degree from the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka University with a focus on technology-enhanced language learning, Mehrasa's research interests include blended learning, mobile learning and immersive learning in second language education.
